Fortnite fans woke up today to the classic mix of good news and bad news:
The bad news: Fortnite servers are officially down for maintenance.
The good news: This is happening because Chapter 7 is arriving — which means new content, new gameplay changes, and the usual hype storm.

🔧 Why Are the Fortnite Servers Down?

Epic Games takes Fortnite offline whenever a major update rolls out — and a chapter launch is the biggest update of all.

Chapter 7 maintenance includes:

  • and huge files that require downtime to upload safely
