Every platform has an origin story.
Ours didn’t start in a fancy office.
It started in refugee camps, in shared kitchens, in speech cafés, in small borrowed rooms full of worried people and cheap instant coffee.

It started with a simple question:

“How can we help Ukrainian refugees learn German faster, easier, and without fear?”

🇺🇦 Where Everything Began

In 2022, thousands of Ukrainians arrived in Germany overnight.
Some were teachers.
Some were teenagers.
Some were grandmothers.
Some had no German at all.
Others had only energy left to survive one day at a time.

And everyone heard the same sentence everywhere they went:
“Ohne Deutsch geht es nicht.”
(Without German, things don’t work.)

So we went to the places where people were living:
✔️ refugee camps
✔️ Sozialämter
✔️ community centers
✔️ speech cafés
✔️ integration courses
✔️ waiting rooms
✔️ church basements

We didn’t start by building a platform.
We started by listening.

We talked to thousands of people.
Students. Mothers. Elderly people. People who used to be directors, doctors, engineers — and now were sharing rooms with strangers and trying to rebuild their identity from zero.

🎤 What People Told Us

When we asked people:

“What makes German difficult for you?”

they answered:

• “Everything is too academic.”

• “I’m afraid to make mistakes.”

• “Exams look scary.”

• “My mind is blocked.”

• “I don’t understand the long texts.”

• “I forget the endings all the time.”

• “I wish learning felt fun, not stressful.”

• “I want something clear and simple. Like a game.”

We wrote all these answers down.
Hundreds of pages.
We collected real problems, real stories, real fears.

And then we asked ourselves:

**How can we build something that helps EVERYONE, even people who:

• never used learning apps

• are older

• are stressed

• have trauma

• have children

• have no time

• or feel insecure?**

That question shaped everything.

💛 Our Goal Was Always the Same

To build a platform that is:

✔️ simple
✔️ colorful
✔️ friendly
✔️ intuitive
✔️ exam-focused
✔️ gamified
✔️ not boring
✔️ and accessible to ANYONE

No matter if they are 15 or 75.

We imagined someone in a refugee camp with a cheap phone, tired and stressed, opening our platform — and actually understanding what to do.

We imagined someone who failed the exam twice finally saying:
“Aha! Now I get it!”

We imagined learning German feeling like a game, not like a punishment.

Points. Badges. Streaks. Motivation.
Because learning should be a pleasure — not a fear.

🌍 Showing People How to Use It — Personally

We didn’t just launch the website and disappear.

No.
We stood in the camps.
Between bunk beds and washing machines.
Between shared tables and noisy hallways.
With toddlers running around.
With people crying, asking questions, needing help.

We personally showed people:
how to open the homepage,
how to choose a lesson,
how to do the exercises,
how to save their progress.

We helped elderly people with shaky hands use their phones.
We sat beside single mothers who were learning German with a crying child in their lap.
We guided teenagers who were preparing for B1 while working part-time jobs.

We held these stories close.
They are the heart of what we do.

Learning German is a journey.
Sometimes beautiful.
